<image:caption>My Jewish journey has been about finding the places that fit. Growing up, URJ Camps, to NFTY youth groups, and College Hillel open the door to finding others of like mind and values. Temple Solel is the first synagogue I have belonged as an adult that also fit. From day one, the community demonstrated authentic caring about me and my family which in turn created the safe space for raising our children and continued Jewish learning and exploration. I am humbled by the support of the community in serving as President - Temple Solel just turned 60 - and I am excited to be part of the next chapter of the Congregations story.. Email Michael at President@templesolelmd.org.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Membership - The Higgs Family</image:title>
<image:caption>Because once wasn’t enough, we joined Temple Solel twice. The first time was to enroll our oldest child in Torah for Tots, the launching pad for his religious school experience. Two children, two Bar Mitzvah’s and one confirmation later—and with college tuitions looming—we left. We speed-dated high holiday services at the Naval Academy and others. We kept up with our Temple Solel friends. But something was missing. A spiritual connection? A sense of community? The empathy that comes from a community that supports you when you need them? Maybe all of the above. The idea of a voluntary commitment sealed the deal. Leaving was difficult, but returning seemed totally natural. Temple Solel is a very comfortable and comforting place to be.</image:caption>

Young adults, past their B'nai Mitzvah, can attend "Jew U" where they continue their education and help teach younger students.
