The Higgs Family

Because once wasn’t enough, we joined Temple Solel twice. The first time was to enroll our oldest child in Torah for Tots, the launching pad for his religious school experience. Two children, two Bar Mitzvahs and two confirmations later—and with college tuitions looming—we left. But something was missing. The idea of a voluntary commitment sealed the deal for our return. Leaving was difficult, but returning seemed totally natural. Temple Solel is a very comfortable, comforting place to be.

MEmbership

Temple Solel is over 180 families strong and includes a population as diverse as the surrounding community. We are proud to be the first synagogue in the D.C. and Baltimore areas to replace traditional dues with a voluntary commitment. This allows any and every family who wants to be part of our congregation to comfortably do so.

If you’re thinking about joining our community, or even if you aren’t, we welcome everyone to share Temple life with us. We have regular Friday night Shabbat worship, Saturday morning Torah Study, and Sunday school for our children. Please see our calendar of events for more information.

For more information about joining our congregation, or about an event you might like to share with us, please call us at (301) 249-2424 or email membership@templesolelmd.org.
